The Privilege of Serving
Devotional
There’s a beautiful shift that happens when we stop seeing service to God as something we have to do and start seeing it as something we get to do. This change in perspective transforms our entire approach to living for Christ and serving others.
Serving God isn’t about checking boxes or fulfilling religious obligations. It’s about responding to His incredible love with grateful hearts. When we truly understand what God has done for us – forgiving our sins, adopting us as His children, and promising us eternal life – serving Him becomes a privilege, not a burden.
This perspective changes everything. Instead of waiting for someone to ask us to help, we start looking for opportunities to serve. Instead of giving reluctantly, we give joyfully. Instead of serving with a sense of duty, we serve with a sense of honor.
Remember, God doesn’t need our service – He invites us into it. He could accomplish His purposes without us, but He chooses to include us in His work. What an incredible privilege! We get to be part of what God is doing in the world.
Your labor in the Lord is never in vain. Every act of service, every moment of worship, every sacrifice made in love – it all matters to God. He sees it, He values it, and He will reward it. Today, embrace the privilege of serving the King of kings.
Bible Verse
‘But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ – 1 Corinthians 15:57
